Gnomes & Knights is a free, browser-based massively multiplayer strategy game played on a real-world map. Two factions, the cunning Gnomes and the disciplined Knights, compete to plant banners across every city, town, and parish on Earth. Every banner you place is anchored to a real geohash coordinate, visible live to every other player on the planet, and protected by mana, action points, and the wits you bring to the realm.

What you do in the realm

Pick a side. Knights spend action points to plant their banners; Gnomes spend mana. Banners stand until a rival burns them down. Capture a real-world town and the leaderboard records it. Lose a town and the dragon hunts begin. The map is alive at every hour of the day - someone, on some continent, is always pushing the front line.

How to play

  1. Sign up with email or Google. No download. No payment.
  2. Choose your faction - Gnome or Knight. The choice is final.
  3. Pick your starting city. Plant your first banner.
  4. Earn mana or action points by holding territory and watching optional rewarded video ads.
  5. Push into rival towns. Drop bombs on enemy fortresses. Climb the leaderboard.

About the project

Gnomes & Knights is an independent passion project, built and operated from Cardiff, Wales. The game is free forever, funded by optional video ads and voluntary cosmetic bundles. Privacy and your data

We collect the minimum needed to run the game: an account identifier, your username and faction, your gameplay record, and the banners you place on the map. We do not sell your personal data.
